The General Muir, established in January 2013 at Emory Point, is a modern American restaurant inspired by classic New York Jewish Deli, returning it to its hand-crafted roots. Traditional favorites are honored — pastrami is cured and smoked in house, bagels are hand rolled and kettle boiled — and joined by dishes going beyond tradition, focusing on fresh ingredients and simple preparations. A second location in Sandy Springs opened in 2021. The restaurant is named for the refugee transport ship that brought co-owner Jennifer Johnson's mother and grandparents, Holocaust survivors, to New York in 1949. Read more about the origin of our name and see the video by Atlanta Magazine below. The General Muir serves breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch at both locations, plus dinner at the Emory location, and offers an espresso bar serving locally-roasted Dancing Goats coffee as well as a full bar of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails. Next door to the original Emory location, you’ll find TGM Bread and TGM Soup Co. pairing fresh baked breads and soups for a quick lunch, as well as loaves to take home. 7. Goldbergs Fine Foods

Rich in history. Committed to quality. Bagels made the old-fashioned way. Goldberg’s Bagel Company & Deli, originally named Goldberg & Son, started in 1972 as a small true father-and-son run Atlanta deli serving six varieties of authentic New York-style boiled bagels and one very popular Po’ Boy sandwich. The location was a small but very popular traditional New York deli.
Though Goldberg’s has expanded its menu offerings to include a wide range of breakfast and lunch items, bagels are still at the heart of the company. That’s why Goldberg’s staff continues to bake more than 500 dozen bagels every weekday and more than 1,000 dozen on the weekends. Today, more than 32 varieties—from salt, to asiago cheese, to super cinnamon—can be smeared with any of a dozen flavors of house-made cream cheeses, nova or hummus. Using an Old World method, the handmade bagels are given a swift boil and are then set upon redwood boards, where they bask in a rotating, 500-degree oven until browned to an ideal crispness.

Bringing back a taste of a simpler time, when life was all about living in the moment. Our community market and bistro have been designed to transport you to another place and time, where you can lose yourself, just for a while in a comfortable, rustic atmosphere with a French Provincial feel. Owners Kelly Smith-Blacha and Lorry Kemp, longtime friends and Roswell residents wanted to bring a true community gathering spot to the historic downtown area. The décor and gathering areas are designed to inspire conversation and encourage guests to linger longer with friends.
In 2008 Kelly and Lorry opened Party Chic by KellyKakes, a special events venue and home to KellyKakes. Inspired to create something special in historic Roswell, they opened Roswell Provisions in 2011. In 2013, following a warm welcome by the community, they expanded their concept and transitioned the upstairs from Party Chic to what is now Le Bistro, replicating the rustic, Provincial atmosphere of their market below. They invite you to stop in, gather with friends, get lost for a while and enjoy the community of Canton Street.
