- Phone: +1 320-864-6038
In 1987, Mike and Vicki Bump bought this establishment in hopes of bringing a quality family restaurant to the area. Mike was raised in Marshall with 13 siblings and Vicki had 11 siblings from Thief River Falls. Growing up with large families meant a lot of good old fashioned meals. This, paired with Mike's background in meat sales means you will find all of our food to be of the highest quality. After over 30 active years in the Glencoe community, Mike and Vicki moved to 'lake country' to relax and enjoy their kids and grandchildren. On January 1, 2006, Mike and Vicki sold the establishment to long-time managers, Eileen Popelka and son-in-law, Mike McGuire. The commitment to offering home cooked food and excellent service continues under Eileen and Mike's ownership. We have the same great employees, many who have been with Bumps since the doors opened in 1987! They are committed to offering you home cooked food and excellent service seven days a week. 6. Waldmann Brewery
- Address: No 445 Smith Ave N, Saint Paul, MN 55102-2725
- Phone: +1 651-222-1857
Named after its original owner, Anthony Waldmann, this brewery and wurstery is housed in the oldest surviving commercial building in the Twin Cities—a limestone saloon built in the fall of 1857. Beginning this fall, Waldmann will once again welcome everyone with the warmth of wood fire and lamplight. From hand-hewn woodwork to period engravings, every detail reflects the care and craftsmanship at the soul of this restored pre-Civil War original—including, of course, the beer itself. Using old-world horizontal fermenting techniques and noble and heritage hops, the Waldmann brewing team is making traditional German-style lagers with an approach to recipes and brewing processes that stay true to the building’s 1850s heritage. Pull up an authentic steamboat chair and choose from one of several enduring styles, like pilsner, dunkel and kolsch. Their beer is the perfect complement to tasty bites from the wurstery kitchen, including freshly made sausages, heritage wheat pretzels, and limestone potatoes roasted under a slab of Platteville bedrock. They pride themselves in carrying on German-inspired cooking traditions using locally sourced ingredients, whenever possible.

They are of German descent, so the name is fitting (“Oma” is German for Grandma). They enjoy bringing some home with them and specialize in baked goods. After moving to the States, they’ve found a way to share their love of German style baking with you all. With having a brick and mortar bake shop they were able to accommodate our client’s orders year round. The community enjoyed their baked products so much they decided to add a lunch menu a year later. After three years of having a storefront, they outgrew it fast and opened a much bigger restaurant and bakery. They are currently open later on Friday and Saturday evenings with a unique German menu and sometimes feature a special. They are very grateful for the support they have received and are happy to invite you to a restaurant & bakery for a German bite to eat, with a fresh baked pastry and specialty cup of coffee.
